While the Eva-Dry Model 500 Dehumidifier can't do anything about politicians, it can help protect your firearms and other valuables from rust, mold, mildew, and moisture. The Model 500 is perfect for small spaces up to 500 cubic feet such as gym bags, cupboards, small safes, or closets. When the Eva-Dray indicator beads change color you will know it is time to "recharge" the unit. Just plug it in to an electric outlet and 12-14 hours later it will be ready to protect your valuables again. The Model 500 can absorb 6-8 ounces of moisture from the air over a 30-60 day period. The non-toxic crystallized silica gel can be renewed for up to ten years.
